My photography can take me to a variety of places, that’s one of things that I enjoy about corporate photography. This weekend I was working with the organisers of the Solo Fastnet Yacht Race and Conrad Manning Racing.
The weekend started on Friday evening where I travelled across to Cowes Yacht Haven to meet up with Conrad. We was there to work on some promotional images that he needs to include in his prospectus for new sponsors. We also including some images for him to post on social media during the fastnet race itself. We then moved up into the clubhouse, with the competitors gathered for a social meal before the start of the race on Saturday. I captured some images for the organisers, who wanted to be able to show what goes on at races to their online audience.
After catching the 8am ferry from Southampton, Saturday morning found me back at Cowes Yacht Haven, where my brief was to catch at the hussle and bussle of the sailors preparing the yachts in the build up to the start of the race at 2pm.
At 1.30pm, we then jumped into a RIB that took me out to the middle of the solent, so that I could capture images of the yachts as they start the long race to the Fastnet Rock, situated on the southern tip of Ireland.
I was able to get some shots of the action as the 3 different classes to their turns to cross the start line at their specified times. When then managed to go further along the solent to capture some more of the action before they headed out to the english channel.
Feel free to get in touch to discuss any future photography requirements that you may have.
